Home GORBA Trail Maintenance

The GORBA trail is comprised of many smaller trails. Your membership supports the development and maintenance of the GORBA trail at Guelph Lake and our trail crew is always out to repair and improve the trail network. Part of our improvements this year are to place trail signs on each of our trails corresponding to a trail map. Trail maps are available from our sponsors and GORBA is also going to build a display of the map of the trail at key intersections at Guelph Lake.

GORBA received a grant from IMBA to improve our trails. GORBA used the grant for two projects. First, the trail signs you will see on the trail system and secondly, new tools for the trail crew. GORBA encourages our members to come out and help on trail maintenance days. We plan six to eight trail maintenance days throughout the summer and these days are scheduled usually on on a Saturday from 9am to noon.

If you are a student who needs to complete your community service hours, coming to trail maintenance days count towards your community hours.

Members of GORBA who come out to trail maintenance days received "GORBA Bucks", which can be used to purchase a GORBA membership, or some of our GORBA merchandise.

Before and After trail work
This section of trail was rutted, had poor water drainage, which contributed to erosion of the area. Repairing the section of trail using IMBA guidelines corrected the erosion problem and made the trail section better without causing negative impact on the area.
