Since 2006 GORBA has offered a Youth Program for our younger members. The goals of this program are to guide our youth to improve their biking skills, develop self-esteem and create environmental awareness.

Each year we’ve seen an increase in interest and now enjoy a large active group of youth members.

GORBA Youth begin each season with a one day bike camp. Youth are taught basic biking skills that they will continue to develop during our weekly supervised club rides throughout the summer. Such skills as braking, gearing, climbing, descending, bike maintenance, road and trail safety are taught and practiced during the riding season. Girls and boys have the opportunity to learn, have fun riding and meet new friends.

Instructors who volunteer their time with the youth throughout the summer are Certified Ontario Mountain Bike Instructors (OMBI) through the Ontario Cycling Association.
