Canada Day Away Ride???

Could be a chance for me to get away for a ride this Sunday (July 1).
Would anyone be interested in riding 3-Stages or Kolapore if I can swing it? More interest = better odds of me "selling" the day internally.

hmmm... I've not ridden either of those trails before. I've got a copy of Rider Mel's guide at home where I can look them up, but since I won't be home for many hours yet, can you describe the terrain? I think I've heard that 3 Stage is pretty rocky. Is it another Hilton Falls?
I definitely want to ride this weekend, but I don't know my availability yet.
I looked at the long range weather forecast, and I saw I high of 17 on Sunday. Sorry to all of you winter-hating, summer-loving fools, but WOOHOO!!! That's a temperature I can enjoy! Great riding weather, too.

3-Stages is one of my all-time fav rides. Starts with sweet flowy trails with some rocky sections, then a looooooooo(ooooo)ng down, then very rocky/technical along the river at the bottom, then a looooooooo(oooooo)ng climb back up to the flowy stuff at the top. Definitely an "epic" ride. Lots of fun.
Kolapore is also an "epic" ride but without the looo(ooo)ng climb. Some very rocky sections (if you get to them) some rooty sections, lots of flow.
Both are pretty much a mix of everything that we like, and are both very worthwhile destination rides.

Post 3 stage for Sunday and see who wants to go. I would be interested and can find my way around.

How about we make it an afternoon ride? leave at 12 ride and get something to eat in Collingwood on our way home. Almost forgot to include something to drink as well.
Or if there are 2 forms of transport we can do part of the OVER THE TOP ride.

BTW, I know rider Mel. He's a good friend of a good friend of mine. If you look at the credits in his book you'll see the name "Stoner". I'll give you 3 guesses as to who that is.

How long would your OVER THE TOP ride be?
3 Stages would be good as would Kolapore.
Would like to do a day ride at Bruce Ride park some time too. Should be doable in a day as long as you get an early start and and don't mind being home a bit later. Maybe the next long weekend if I don't go to Ellicotteville.

I was actually planning on hitting Kolapore for the first time this weekend as i will be up in Meaford. Never been to 3-stage either.

You should check out both as both are great rides.
Brad has posted a 3 Stages ride for this Sunday plus we have 3 Stages on Saturday July 14 and Kolapore on Sunday July 15 as part of our Collingwood camping weekend. If you come up for the Saturday ride, you can also hand around for a swim and the great pot luck dinner.
